Alberto Gilardino has described his 89th-minute winner which earned ACF Fiorentina a 2-1 victory at Atalanta BC as his “most important goal” since joining from AC Milan last summer.
After a frustrating 2007/08 season at Milan, the move has proved the right one for the 26-year-old, who prefers not to dwell on his past experiences. “I don’t want to think about the past,” he said. “Now I’m only focused on scoring 20 league goals by the end of the season without penalties.”
“Probably this was my most important goal for Fiorentina because it allows us to chase Genoa and fight for the fourth place.”
