Giovanni Simeone, son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone, is rumoured to leave Genoa for Fiorentina, a report from Marca states.
The proposed deal — which is reportedly to be announced as soon as Tuesday — between the two Serie A clubs is believed to be worth €15 million for the Argentine’s move to Florence.
Simeone began started his career in his native Argentina, playing for River Plate for two years before he was loaned out to Banfield. While at Banfield, the 22-year-old striker scored 12 goals in 36 appearances.
The following season, he signed with the Genoese club for a reported €3 million. In his first season with the Italian club, he led the club in total goals scored with 12 in 34 total appearances.
La Viola will look to Simeone to continue his goal-scoring streak and hope that he will propel them to a European spot for next season, as they just missed out on the Europa League by three points.
