Parma forward Sebastian Giovinco has moved to confirm speculations that he could return to Juventus at the end of the season.
The Italian international is co-owned by Juventus and Parma, but he has been heavily linked with a move back to Turin.
The Bianconeri general manager Giuseppe Marotta recently revealed that Giovinco was on their shortlist, while Parma chiefs also admitted that Juventus were leading the race for the player’s signature.
Even if some sources suggested that the player would not be interested in a move to Juventus, Giovinco now explains that the Old Lady have the advantage over other interested clubs.
“A return to Juventus? It is still early, the co-ownership needs to be resolved, it also depends on the project they have in mind for or against me, but I am now thinking of nothing else,” Giovinco told Mediaset.
“Juve is having a devastating season and I hope it turns out even better in the end.”
The 25-year-old admits he is interested in succeeding the famed number 10 shirt from Alessandro Del Piero.
“Next year the No 10 shirt will likely be free? Certainly and it is a number that I like, but again, it is early.”
Giovinco, who is widely tipped to make Italy’s Euro 2012 squad, has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 10 goals and creating 8 assists in 28 Serie A games.
