Giroud hopes Cahill stays

Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud has stated that he hopes Gary Cahill remains at the club, despite many reports suggesting that he’ll be looking elsewhere in January. Cahill, who used to serve as the heart of the Blues’ defence, has been on a gradual decline that has seen him fall out of favour with Maurizio Sarri. He also didn’t play a significant role in England’s World Cup campaign this summer, with many believing that his time has come and gone on the international scene – and at Stamford Bridge.

Alas, Giroud, who has been slowly growing into his role with the Blues, is eager to see Cahill stay in London, stating that he’s been at the club for six years and is an important part of the system.

Chelsea are off to an unbeaten start in the Premier League this season, as they continue to make an unlikely push for the title.
