According to a recent report from Fabrizio Romano, Olivier Giroud looks set to extend his current contract with AC Milan.
The Frenchman’s current deal is set to expire in June. However, while initial reports indicated that he may venture elsewhere, a verbal pact on a new deal is believed to have been agreed upon.
This likely comes in the wake of his tremendous World Cup performances for France, in which he was able to really step up for Les Bleus in the absence of Karim Benzema.
The 36-year-old may not be the kind of player that is going to be around forever, and the man himself probably knows that. In equal measure, though, he’s been instrumental to Milan’s success in recent years.
The Italian giants have finally started to resemble the great club they once were and even if it’s just for one more year, Giroud is going to be important.
