Olivier Giroud is not playing much at Chelsea and he wants to change that. While it remains clear that Frank Lampard does not trust him enough to become his first-choice striker, the Frenchman is eager to make a move during the upcoming January transfer window.
The reason for that is that the world champion from 2018 wants to play regularly in the buildup to the Euro 2020 and get the callup from France national team coach Didier Deschamps. For that, it appears, he would have to change the club and according to Football London, Giroud is being targeted by Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid.
Frank Lampard clearly prefers Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi up front at Chelsea and Giroud could go to either Italy or Spain in search of a chance to play. Also, this could all be helped by the fact Chelsea are allowed to sign new players and therefore could find the replacements for the Frenchman if he was to leave.
