Giroud to stay at Chelsea

“No. Olivier Giroud in this window has been incredible as a professional and as a man.” 

Those are the short and sweet words of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard who has seemingly confirmed that Olivier Giroud will not be leaving the club during the January transfer window. 

The expectation all day long has been that the veteran forward would be making his way out of Stamford Bridge before the end of the window, but now, it looks like he’s staying put after all. 

It’s been an incredibly frustrating month for Lampard and the Blues, as they haven’t really been able to make the sort of progress they wanted in adding to their squad. Now, Lampard will be forced to do everything in his power to make sure Giroud makes the most of the time he has left with the club. 

Either way, it’s a saga all parties involved will want to forget.
