Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud admits he is flattered by interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
The Ligue 1 top scorer looks set to leave MHSC at the end of the season and Bayern Munich officials recently revealed they were indeed following the 25-year-old.
The player himself has now confirmed that he is interested in joining the German giants.
“I know that Bayern are scouting me and I am very flattered”, Giroud told L’Equipe.
“For strikers the German league is very attractive, and it seems that all the centre forward have a lot of fun playing in the Bundesliga.”
Montpellier president Louis Nicollin admitted that the club probably would not be able to keep hold of their prized asset earlier this month.
The Ligue 1 leaders want around €16 million for their star forward, which is well within Bayern’s price range.
The Bavarians could, however, face stiff competition from other interested sides, as teams from France, England, Italy and Spain are also keen.
Giroud, who has 16 goals in 24 Ligue 1 games this season, has just scored on his France debut, as les Bleus recorded an unexpected friendly victory over Germany in midweek.
