Bundesliga outfit Borussia M’gladbach are keeping close tabs on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mikel Merino, according to Superdeporte.
The 20-year-old joined the Millionaires from Osasuna last summer, but he could only muster eight Bundesliga appearances.
As a result, chances are that Merino will be farmed out on loan in the upcoming transfer window and latest reports suggest that Borussia M’gladbach and FC Koln are ready to offer him an escape route from Signal-Iduna Park.
With four years left on his contract, the youngster still has time to show he can develop into a quality footballer, but he obviously needs to be playing on regular basis.
Merino has two Segunda seasons behind him, but this has been his first ever top flight campaign, and fewer than 300 minutes of football was definitely not enough for the talented footballer to prove what he is capable of.
