Bundesliga outfit Borussia M’gladbach are keen on signing Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid, according to Sport Bild.
Die Fohlen attempted to bring the talented footballer on a season-long loan in the summer transfer window, but they were unable to find an agreement with los Blancos as a number of high-profile clubs were after the youngster’s signature.
Odegaard eventually remained at Santiago Bernabeu as Real Madrid didn’t want to be punished for a transfer of an under-age player, but considering that Odegaard will turn 18 in December, a January loan seems likely.
Borussia M’gladbach have now emerged as one of the favourites to sign the Norway international since they have already been responsible for developing some of Europe’s top talent.
It is believed that Odegaard prefers a move to German Bundesliga, where he should be able to secure enough first team opportunities to aid his development.
