(GSM) – Godoy Cruz’s chance to go top of the Clausura fell short on Thursday as they were held to a 0-0 draw at Racing Club.

After Independiente fell Gimnasia on Wednesday, Godoy Cruz needed just a victory to move ahead of Independiente on goal difference atop the tournament standings.

Despite their goal, Godoy Cruz could not find a way past the defensive unit of Racing Club, and home side goalkeeper Jorge de Oliveira did well to keep the scoresheet blank.

They now are just two points behind Independiente, as are Argentinos Juniors after their 1-0 win at Rosario Central thanks to Ismael Sosa’s lone strike on the hour mark.

Boca Juniors sit second from bottom of the tournament after being hammered 3-0 at Colón.

Esteban Fuertes scored before a pair of Facundo Bertoglio goals sealed Boca’s fate, and Breitner Bonilla was sent off for the visitors in a thoroughly disappointing performance.
