Mario Goetze says he followed his heart in deciding to extend his Borussia Dortmund contract until 2016.
Goetze, 19, announced himself as one of the most exciting talents in Europe as he helped Dortmund to the Bundesliga title last season.
His performances have reportedly attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
But the teenager has opted to extend his existing Dortmund contract for a further two seasons, citing his confidence in the club’s coaching structure.
“I’ve always said that BVB (Dortmund) are an absolute matter of the heart and I am deeply rooted in the club,” he told Bild.
“The team have great prospects. I feel that something good is growing here.
“The whole package with coaches, management and the team is simply good.
“We are pleased with our development, which is nowhere near its end, and I’ll do my part to help.”
“The team have succeeded in signing Marco Reus, he will help us take the next step. I’m really looking forward to playing with him.”
Reus became the second most expensive player in Dortmund’s history when he signed from Borussia Moenchengladbach for 17 million euros in January.
Dortmund are five points clear in the Bundesliga and have eight matches of the season left to play as they seek a double of league title and DFB-Pokal.
