Bayern Munich forward Mario Gomez is reportedly on the verge of signing a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2017.
The Germany international – who has scored 27 goals for Bayern in all competitions this season – is currently tied to the Allianz Arena outfit until the end of the 2012-2013 campaign.
But the Bavarian giants are keen to secure Gomez’s services for the long term, with a four-year extension reported to be worth over 37 million pounds on the table for the prolific striker.
“We know that Mario is very comfortable in Munich,” Bayern’s sporting director Christian Nerlinger told Bild.
The 26-year-old hinted at a new deal when quizzed on his future in Qatar during the club’s January training camp.
“I want to be part of this team in the coming years,” Gomez said at the time.
