Gomez set for new Liverpool contract

Liverpool are ready to offer Joe Gomez a fresh contract, according to the Mirror.

The England international has more than three years remaining on his current deal but is set to be rewarded for his early season form.

The twenty-one-year-old has played in all but one of the Reds’ league games and every minute of their Champions League campaign so far while he also featured in three of the last four fixtures for his country.

Gomez signed from Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2015 and has since racked up in fifty-three appearances in all competitions.

He has been capped five times for the Three Lions and would most likely have been part of their squad for this summer’s World Cup finals had he not been injured.

Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to Arsenal on Saturday afternoon and are favourites to take all three points at a price of 1/1.
