Fenerbahce are the first leaders of the Turkish Super Lig season following a 0-2 victory at Denizlispor. Galatasaray are second thanks to a 2-3 win at Gaziantepspor.

Spanish striker Daniel Guiza was of great importance to Fenerbahce in their first match of the season. The forward scored the opening goal after less than two minutes, and added a second with three minutes to go in regular time.

Galatasaray took an early comfortable lead at Gaziantepspor, with goals from Arda Turan (8th) and Mustafa Sarp (21st).

Brazilian forward Julio Cesar pulled one back in the 37th minute but Shabani Nonda restored Gala’s lead in the 85th. Rodrigo Tabata’s goal from the penalty spot in the 90th minute (2-3) was to no avail for the home team.
