Celtic are closing in on a deal for former Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon, according to Sky Sports.
The 31 year old hasn’t played professionally since leaving the Stadium of Light two years ago but returned to training last year having overcome knee problems.
Now back to full fitness, the Scottish Premiership champions are ready to make a move, amid reports that first choice shot-stopper Fraser Foster could be sold.
Foster was part of England’s squad for this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil, and has been linked with a move to the Premier League while La Liga champions Atletico Madrid have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
Prior to his move to the Premier League, Gordon spent the first seven years of his professional career in his native Scotland, turning out one-hundred-and-seventy-six times for Hearts of Midlothian while he also had a brief loan spell with Cowdenbeath during the 2001/02 campaign.
