Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff and defender Cris have been ruled out of the league clash at home to Paris Saint Germain, Lyon announced Friday.
Gourcuff suffered a knock to his calf in the 3-0 Champions League defeat to Schalke in midweek and, according to club president Jean-Michel Aulas he could be ruled out for three weeks.
Club coach Claude Puel contradicted that estimate, claiming Gourcuff could resume training as of this week.
Cris has been sidelined for Lyon’s last two matches but is on the mend and could return within the week, according to the club.
Lyon won the French league title seven years in succession but had a slow start to the 2010/2011 campaign before battling back into contention.
Ahead of Sunday’s clash Puel’s side sit in eighth, only two points off leaders Lille.
