Olympique Lyonnais winger Sidney Govou scored the only goal of the French Cup final in extra time to secure his side the double against Paris Saint-Germain FC.
PSG had reason to feel hard done by with the result as they hit the crossbar once in each half and were the dominant side until Lyon's goal, being denied several times by the champions' goalkeeper Grégory Coupet in his last game wearing a Lyon shirt. The goal came after 101 minutes when a long cross from Karim Benzema found Kader Keita who chested it down into the path of Govou who fired in from close range.
The seven-time consecutive French champions kept it tight against the side who finished 16th in the table, and only escaped relegation in the last round of games, to become the eleventh French side to clinch the league and cup double – one week after they retained their Ligue 1 crown.
