Graeme Souness has written in The Times that Bayern Munich central midfielder Thiago Alcantara would be a good signing for Liverpool.
The former Liverpool legend believes that Thiago still has three years at the highest level and would make the Reds stronger.
According to Bleacher Report, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to sign the 29-year-old central midfielder in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Klopp is pushing for the Liverpool board to secure the services of the Spain international this summer.
Souness wrote in The Times: “That was classic Liverpool when I played there and classic Manchester United for over more than 20 years under Sir Alex Ferguson — to strengthen from a position of power.
“Thiago Alcantara, the Bayern Munich midfielder, would be perfect because he works his socks off but is also gifted technically. He is 29, but he still has a couple of years, maybe three, at the highest level left in him.”
Would Thiago Alcantara be a good signing for Liverpool?
Thiago is one of the best central midfielders on the planet and is a world-class player.
The Spaniard is a serial winner, having won La Liga twice with Barcelona, the Bundesliga seven times with Bayern, and the Champions League once with the German giants.
Liverpool do have a strong team, but a player of Thiago’s skill-set and calibre would make the Premier League champions better and would enhance their chances of winning the league title in 2020-21, which is rated 15/8 by Betfair at the moment.
