Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero could join Liverpool, his representative has revealed.
The 24-year-old has been is becoming increasingly unhappy with his status in Jose Mourinho’s side and is desperate to leave the club in January.
Granero has only amassed three substitute appearances in La Liga this season and is now looking to leave in search of first team football.
Liverpool are reportedly prepared to offer the player an escape route from Santiago Bernabeu, as Reds boss Kenny Dalglish believes Granero would be a good addition to the squad at Anfield.
The player’s representative has now confirmed that his client could move to Anfield this January.
“He’s finding his chances limited at Real. He’s keen for a move away – possibly to Liverpool,” Teo Lazaro told International Business Times.
“If he can’t play at Madrid then he’ll play somewhere else. It’s as simple as that.”
Granero started his career at Real Madrid, but it was not until he moved to Getafe that he was able to realize his full potential.
Los Blancos managed to re-sign the player in the summer of 2009, but he never quite managed to hold on to a regular starting place at the Bernabeu.
