The Mirror recently reported on the alleged interest of Tottenham Hotspur in Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, and added that Spurs would be facing competition from the likes of West Ham and Bournemouth. However, Bournemouth Echo now claim that they “understand” that the part of the Mirror’s report relating to the Cherries is untrue.
England manager Gareth Southgate recently said that the 23-year-old midfielder would do well to rack up some games in the Premier League before he is considered for an international call-up, and his statement seems to have triggered speculative reports about top-tier clubs’ interest in his services.
Some of it may be true, but apparently not when it comes to Bournemouth with manager Eddie Howe’s transfer plans not including the controversial player.
Grealish has been on good form this season, helping Villa to the sixth place at the moment as they continue their quest for promotion. He scored four goals and laid on as many assists in 24 Championship appearances.
