(GSM) – PAOK suffered their first defeat of the season and extended their winless streak to three matches, losing 1-0 at Xanthi on Sunday.

After getting three points from their opening match, PAOK went on to draw the next two encounters. As such, the team were more than motivated to return to winning ways at Xanthi.

But the home team had different plans. A penalty kick was awarded after 25 minutes and Mauro Poy converted from the spot, 1-0.

PAOK had no answer to that set-back and went on to finish the game one man down after Pablo Contreras picked up his second yellow card in the 73rd minute.

PAOK are now in seventh position, at four points from leaders Olympiakos.
