Greek first division club Larissa announced Tuesday that they have signed to a two-year contract Cameroon international midfielder Geremi.
No financial details of the deal were revealed by the team.
Geremi, 31, has played in 116 matches for Cameroon scoring 13 goals and appeared in all three of the team’s matches in the World Cup in South Africa.
On a club level he has played for Ankaragucu in Turkey (2010), Newcastle United (2007-2010), Chelsea (2003-2007), Real Madrid (1999-2003) and on loan with Middlesbrough (2002-2003), Genclerbirligi (1997-1999), Cerro Porteno (1997) and Racing Bafoussam (1995-1996).
“With experience in two of the top notch leagues in Europe (England and Spain) and playing for two of the biggest clubs in the world (Chelsea and Real Madrid), the superstar is the top transfer ever for Larissa and one of the biggest in Greece,” a statement by the club said.
