Greek giants Panathinaikos have made two additions to their squad by signing goalkeeper Daniel Márcio Fernandes and defender Giorgos Ioannidis. Márcio Fernandes, 26, has joined on a year long loan from VfL Bochum, while left back Ioannidis was a free agent prior to joining Panathinaikos.
Fernandes spent the first half of 2010 on loan at Iraklis FC. The Edmonton born stopper was with Panathinaikos’ league rivals PAOK between 2003 and 2008 before signing for Bochum for a reported 1.2 million euro fee.
Ioannidis was part of the Greek team that reached the finals of the 2007 UEFA U-19 Championships before losing to Spain. He has signed a three year contract with Panathinaikos.
