Looking to sure up their spot in the Copa Libertadores spots, Gremio will welcome Bahia to the Arena do Grêmio on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting in a season-best display and putting four past Atlético Mineiro over the weekend, Gremio now have their sights set on securing an automatic spot in next year’s Copa Libertadores. Now winning back-to-back matches and yet to taste defeat since entering October, a huge part of their recent resurge has come thanks to their continued success on home soil. Gremio are unbeaten in their last 10 Serie A matches at the Arena do Grêmio, a run that stems back to the 5th of May. Arguably playing their best football of the season, there is no dount that Wednesday’s hosts should be confident of extending their winning run in midweek.

As for the visitors, while the mood in Gremio’s camp might be on the rise, Bahia are starting to show some real signs of a struggle. Coming off the back of 2-0 defeat away at bottom-half strugglers Fluminense over the weekend, they have now failed to win any of their last three matchups and have begun slipping away from the Copa Libertadores spots.
