Italian daily La Stampa understands that Gremio have made a check on Napoli striker Eduardo Vargas.
The Brazilian club officials are set to visit Italy in order to negotiate a possible deal with their Napoli counterparts.
Gremio are keen on the Chilean forward and will do everything in their power to try and sign him in the January transfer window.
Eduardo Vargas has failed to prove his worth at San Paolo since joining the club in an €11.5 million move from Universidad de Chile and he could be leaving Napoli in the winter.
A loan move to Gremio is a more realistic option as the Azzurri chiefs still believe the forward has enough potential to succeed in Serie A.
Vargas has yet to score a goal in 19 league appearances for Napoli, although the interesting thing is that he hasn’t started a single Serie A game for the San Paolo outfit.
