The La Liga leaders Barcelona are said to be hot on the trail of the 21-year-old Brazilian starlet Arthur.
Reports emerging from the Spanish media outlet Diario AS are claiming that Gremio midfielder has been closely monitored by Barcelona over the past period.
The club’s sporting director Robert Fernandez was in Brazil last week to watch Gremio end the 22-year long Copa Libertadores wait and is said to have been impressed with Arthur.
Gremio beat Lanus 3-1 on aggregate to clinch the third Copa Libertadores title in their history and Arthur once again played a prominent role for his club.
The 21-year-old Brazilian helped his side to last year’s Copa do Brasil title and has extended his formidable run this season as well.
Arthur made 27 appearances for Gremio in Brazil’s Serie A this season, whereas he notched 12 displays in Copa Libertadores, including 51 minutes in the return leg of the final clash against Lanus last night.
