Griezmann knows the name of his next club

Antoine Griezmann apparently knows the name of his next club. The Atletico Madrid star announced earlier in May his decision to leave Los Colchoneros, despite having signed a contract extension just last year. Now, he briefly spoke to Telematin and had some news to drop.

“I know where I’ll be playing next season,” Griezmann said. The player was already linked with numerous clubs since his announcement that he will be leaving Atletico, which narrowed the pool of potential clubs to join them. The reason for that is that his release clause is 125 million euros and only a very rich club can pay that on a single player. The most prominent club that was mentioned was Barcelona, as Blaugrana were close to sign him last season, but things did not work out.

“I can only say that it will not be Miami,” he also added, putting an end to some highly unlikely rumours regarding his potential move to Inter Miami, a new franchise that will start competing in MLS in 2020.
