Antoine Griezmann has admitted that he turned down the chance to sign for Arsenal in the summer, according to the Mail Online.
The 23 year old moved from Real Sociedad to Atletico Madrid in July having featured for France at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil, where he played in all five games for Les Bleus.
Paris Saint Germain were also strongly linked with a move for the forward, though he opted to join Diego Simeone’s side, who are looking to retain the La Liga title.
Prior to his move to the Spanish capital, Griezmann scored fifty-two goals in two hundred and one appearances for Sociedad, while he bagged his first goal for his new club in last month’s shock Champions League defeat to Oympiakos.
Atleti, who were beaten by rivals Real Madrid in the final of last season’s competition can be backed at 20/1 be victorious this time around.
