Atletico Madrid have come away from the first leg of the Europa League semi-final with a decent result of 1-1 against Arsenal despite playing with 10 men for over 80 minutes and will favour themselves to go through to the final.
Speaking after the game, Antoine Griezmann said he didn’t know if he would continue playing for Atletico, according to the Mirror. However, he has confirmed that the talks with the club are ongoing to establish what can be done about the situation.
Last summer, he was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, only to change his mind after a transfer ban made it impossible for Atletico to sign a replacement. His current deal runs until 2022, but in the recent few months, Barcelona have emerged as serious contenders for signing the French attacker. Having sold Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain last summer, the Catalans signed Ousmane Dembele as a possible replacement, but the young winger has had issues with injuries throughout the season and they are looking hard at Griezmann.
