Groningen forward Richairo Zivkovic is followed by a host of top European clubs, according to the Eredivisie side.
The 17-year-old exploded onto the biggest stage this season and his impressive displays did not go unnoticed.
Scouts from Europe’s high-profile clubs have become regular in the stands of Euroborg Stadium, with club chiefs expecting a similar scenario in weekend’s match against PEC Zwole.
“On Sunday the stands will be full again with scouts from European clubs”, Groningen director Hans Nijland told Algemeen Dagblad. “We are focusing on us and no club are discussing Zivkovic, we are not secretive about it.
“But when I see the impressive list of clubs that come to visit, that’s incredible. Half of Europe’s biggest clubs, they are here in the stands. They never say they come to see Zivkovic of course, but they are there.”
Zivkovic came through the youth ranks at Groningen and went on to make four substitute appearances in Dutch Eredivisie last season.
He has developed into an important player this term, netting no less than 5 times in 13 league matches for the club.
Having earned his first two league starts against Roda and Heracles, the youngster is expected to start against PEC Zwole as well, where his side are 6/5 to claim maximum points.
Groningen currently sit in fourth place in the standings, just three points behind leaders Ajax, albeit with a game in hand.
