Ajax are set to complete the signing of Dutch forward Richairo Zivkovic from Groningen, reports Voetbal International.
Even with some of Europe’s top clubs after his signature, it appears the 17-year-old will be moving to Amsterdam ArenA after all.
Ajax were the first interested side to make concrete move and having spent last few weeks negotiating a transfer, the Dutch giants look set to wrap up the deal.
According to Voetbal International, Groningen have accepted a €2.5 million proposal, with only minor details left to be sorted.
Meanwhile, Zivkovic has agreed to a three-year deal, which is a maximum length for a player under the age of 18.
Groningen managing director Hans Nijland has moved to confirm the deal is close to being completed.
“There are still few steps we need to take. We will take our time over the next few days,” Nijland confessed to Voetbal International.
Bar any surprises, Ajax will get their hands on one of of world’s hottest prospects and add him to their existing pool of talent at Amsterdam ArenA.
Richairo Zivkovic has so far made 26 Eredivisie appearances for Groningen and registered 5 goals in the process.
