Kevin Grosskreutz has signed a new contract with Borussia Dortmund until the summer of 2016.
The 24-year-old’s previous deal was due to expire in June 2014, but the player has now ended all speculations about his future by inking a two-year extension.
Sporting director Michael Zorc said he was delighted to hold on to the young gun.
“Kevin has always been a player with a high degree of identification with Borussia Dortmund. We are delighted that we have been able to secure another important component of our team on a long-term basis,” he said.
The winger joined Dortmund from Rot Weiss Ahlen in the summer of 2009, and has since developed into an integral part of the Bundesliga champions’ first team.
“I’m happy to continue playing for the Schwarzgelben. Borussia Dortmund were always my priority, and I will give everything to help the team be successful. I was, am and will always be a Borusse,” Grosskreutz said.
He has made 16 Bundesliga appearances so far this term, scoring once in the process.
