Grosskreutz nears Dortmund exit

Bild has learned that Germany international midfielder Kevin Grosskreutz could be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The highly rated footballer has struggled for playing time since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel and he didn’t even make a single appearance in club’s first four games of the season.

This means that he could leave the Millionaires in search of first team football, with Eintracht Frankfurt confirming interest in his services.

“There is a contact with the consultants. But, nothing more,” Eintracht chief Heribert Bruchhagen told Frankfurter Rundschau.

Kevin Grosskreutz, 27, joined Borussia Dortmund from Rot Weiss Ahlen in 2009 and has since made 176 Bundesliga appearances and scored 23 goals in total.

The Germany international is no longer an undisputed member of the squad at Signal-Iduna Park and there is a good chance he will leave for greener pastures.

Following the good finish to the previous league campaign, the Millionaires can be backed at 16/1 to lift the Bundesliga trophy this term.
