(GSM) – A second-half strike from Fabio Grosso gave Juventus a 2-1 victory at Fiorentina on Saturday, moving the Bianconeri into fourth place in Serie A.

Brazilian midfielder Diego struck the opener for Juve inside two minutes at the Artemio Franchi, but Marco Marchionni levelled proceedings just past the half-hour. Grosso then bagged the winning goal with 22 minutes to play.

The visitors stunned Fiorentina early on when Antonio Candreva’s pass picked out Diego for a nice strike beyond goalkeeper Sebastien Frey.

Fiorentina, though, improved after the stunning opener and went level on 32 minutes when Marchionni worked his way into space for a free header past Juve’s deputy goalkeeper Alexander Manninger.

Juve came out strong in the second half and went back in front in the 68th minute as defender Fabio Grosso came forward to send a wonderful shot beyond Frey.

Fiorentina now sit in 10th place with the chance to fall farther down the table pending the rest of the weekend’s results.
