Libertad came close to a miracle but in the end lacked on goal to keep Guadalajara from advancing to the semi finals in the Copa Libertadores.
Guadalajara won the first leg 3-0 but faced a much stronger Libertad side in the return leg, played in Paraguay.
Adalberto Roman put the hosts in the lead on 20 minutes and Manuel Maciel made it 2-0 eight minutes after the hour.
Libertad needed one more goal to level the aggregate score but Guadalajara avoided further damage and as such advance to the semi finals.
In the semi’s, Guadalajara will face either Flamengo of Brazil or Universidad of Chile.
