(GSM) – Mexico winger Andres Guardado insisted that he will remain at the La Liga club for years to come, after returning to training for the Galician side.

The 23-year-old, who was an integral part of the national side that played at the 2010 World Cup, has been linked with a move away from the Riazor with Deportivo president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro saying before the summer that a big offer could tempt the club to cash in on the popular midfielder.

However, following the sale of full-back Filipe Luis to Atletico Madrid this week have eased Deportivo’s financial problems with Guardado stating that he has no intention of leaving.

“I am here to stay,” he said. “I don’t have any offers or any itching to leave. If any offer comes in, the president will tell me, but I’m relaxed and my head is focused on Deportivo this season.

“Filipe spent four years here, so why shouldn’t I be here that long? I have no problem and no hurry. At my age, I have time for something else later on, but I’m happy, I’ve been well-treated by the people here and I have no reason to think about leaving.”
