Guardiola completes move to Getafe

According to Cordoba president Jesus Leon, forward Sergi Guardiola has officially completed his season-long loan move to Getafe. The 27-year-old could then complete a permanent deal if Getafe so wish, with a proposed fee of €10 million. Guardiola, who has racked up a fantastic record with Cordoba since joining the club last year, has been something of a journeyman over the course of his young career, having played for 14 clubs already since turning professional.

Sergi is most notable for his controversial termination from Barcelona, just a few hours after he had signed what he considered to be his dream deal. A series of offensive tweets that he’d sent out about the club and Catalonia were discovered, and in the blink of an eye, his dream move was gone. Now, however, if he can continue to grow with Getafe, perhaps he can put himself in a position to get another big transfer.
