Guardiola denies Man City clause

Pep Guardiola has denied that there is a clause in his contract which would allow for him to leave Manchester City at the end of the current season.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss signed a contract last season that was planned to keep him at the Etihad until at least 2021, but reports had suggested that the deal included an option for Guardiola to depart early – potentially put in if things start to go south, which has happened in recent months.

“No. It is not true. I spoke a few weeks ago about my intentions with the club”. Those were the words of Guardiola in response to the claims, as fans continue to try and figure out whether their leader will be staying or whether he’ll be going.

For the time being, though, all they’ll be focusing on is whether or not they can force their way back into the title race.
