(GSM) – Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola has emerged as the favorite to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson when the Scot steps down at Manchester United.
The Spanish media suggested Ferguson recommended Guardiola for the United board because of his style of play.
Guardiola, 39, still has not extended his contact which is due to expire next summer and he is believed to have a negative relationship with the Catalan club’s president Sandro Rossell.
Guardiola’s agent Jose Maria Orobigt has confirmed that his client has received an offer from a top European club, which is believed to be United.
Other candidates for the job include Real Madrid manager José Mourinho, former Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill and Everton manager David Moyes.
