Guardiola praised Atletico de Madrid

(GSM)- The Barcelona boss Guardiola congratulated Atletico de Madrid on their win against FC Barcelona.

Barcelona were handed their first league defeat of the season on Sunday as an inspired performance helped Atletico Madrid to a 2-1 victory at the Vicente Calderon and also highlighted his squad’s problems.

He said:”We were not able to play our game and we could not gain the control we wanted to allow us to perform as we would have liked.” he explained: “We are always a team that creates chances but today we faced a team that did some great work in Atletico.”

“We gave it absolutely everything, but we have not been good enough when moving the ball around.” he continued: “There was no continuity in our play. We lost the ball because we were not well positioned. But we tried hard and kept going to try and find our game and that is how we have to keep going.”

According to him, he disappointed about Keita’s injury and Xavi’s muscle problem made him to choose Bojan Krkic to get more depth in attack. He worried of Real Madrid are now just two points behind them and he also ensured that his squad should be bouncing back again to continue the winning race.
