Guardiola wants Van Dijk, Weigl

The Telegraph is reporting that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is hoping to further reinforce his squad in January.

The Citizens have become overwhelming favourites to lift the Premier League title after the run of 16 straight wins, but it seems that the boss believes he can still improve his squad.

According to reports, Pep Guardiola has three players on his wish list and will attempt to bring them to Etihad Stadium.

It is no secret that Man City have emerged as favourites to sign Arsenal hotshot Alexis Sanchez, and it only remains to be seen whether they will make their move in January or at the end of the season.

The Telegraph claims that Guardiola will also step up his interest in Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk, who is expected to replace injury-prone Vincent Kompany at Etihad.

Man City also want Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl to provide competition for holding midfielder Fernandinho.
