Guendouzi heading back to Arsenal

According to a recent report from Bild, Arsenal are set to recall Matteo Guendouzi from his season-long loan spell from Hertha Berlin.

The youngster was a regular feature in the first few months of Mikel Arteta’s tenure as manager, but after an altercation with Neal Maupay during the summer, he was dropped and sent out on loan to Germany.

He’s put in an impressive shift with Hertha with two goals in nine appearances so far this season, leaving many Gunners fans to believe that he is ready to come back to the Emirates.

Guendouzi is obviously still going to be viewed as something of a controversial figure and that’s understandable given how he left, but if Mikel Arteta trusts that he has matured, perhaps it’s time for him to try and prove that on the pitch.

Either way, there’s a good chance this will be resolved one way or the other within the next few days.
