Barcelona confirm Gundogan signing

Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City.

The experienced midfielder joins the Catalan club as a five-time Premier League champion, a two-time FA Cup winner, a four-time League Cup winner, and eventually, a Champions League winner. He was the first signing City made under Pep Guardiola in 2016, and he went on to wear the sky-blue shirt on 304 occasions, scoring 60 goals and producing 40 assists.

Firmino set to join Al-Ahli

Al-Ahli are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Roberto Firmino over a free transfer when his contract with Liverpool expires in a few days.

The 31-year-old spent eight glorious years at Anfield, making a huge imprint on their already rich history.

If everything goes to plan, Firmino should become another part of the football migration to Saudi Arabia by signing a three-year contract with Al-Ahli.

Luka Modric signs Real Madrid extension

Luka Modric has signed a new one-year contract with Real Madrid, ending the speculation about his potential move to Saudi Arabia.

The 37-year-old Croatia captain reportedly had offers to follow his former teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema to the Middle East, but he has obviously chosen to stay put and extend his illustrious spell with Los Blancos for one season more.

It’s been 11 years, 488 games in all competitions, 37 goals and 77 assists, five Champions League trophies, four UEFA Super Cups, five FIFA Club World Cups, three La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies and four Spanish Super Cups for Modric since he joined Real from Tottenham Hotspur. In 2018, having led his national side to their only World Cup final so far, he received the UEFA Best Player in Europe and FIFA Best Men’s Player awards, along with the Ballon d’Or.

Man United still interested in Rabiot

Manchester United have been locked in difficult negotiations with Chelsea over the proposed transfer of Mason Mount, but it seems they’re preparing to withdraw as they consider alternative midfield targets. One of those is reportedly Brighton ace Moises Caicedo, a Chelsea target as well, and they have the possibility of reviving their long-term interest in Adrien Rabiot of Juventus.

If nothing changes in the next few days, the 28-year-old France international will become a free agent, which obviously makes his services even more appealing.

Koulibaly joins Al-Hilal

In case you missed it, Kalidou Koulibaly has been confirmed as a new signing for Al-Hilal.

After only a year at Chelsea, the 32-year-old Senegalese defender has moved on, having decided to accept the offer to be one of the bright stars the Saudi Pro League continues to lure away from European football. He made a total of 32 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.
