Barcelona are interested in signing Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City, according to Marca, but the German midfielder has no intention of leaving the Etihad any time soon. The 31-year-old will be entering the final 12 months of his contract with City at the end of the season and Barcelona were looking to try and take advantage of that situation, but City are also keen to tie Gundogan down to a new deal and won’t be entertaining any offers for his services this summer.
Having arrived to City from Borussia Dortmund back in 2016, the 54-cap Germany international has so far made 242 appearances in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s team, scoring 46 goals and producing 32 assists. He’s helped Pep Guardiola’s team win three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four League Cups. He also played a big part in their run to the Champions League final last season, where they were eventually stopped by Chelsea.
