Argentina international Ever Banega is a transfer target for Arsenal, according to the Spanish press.
The newly-appointed Gunners boss Unai Emery is said to be pushing for Benega reunion and has even made a personal phone call to the Sevilla star to try and convince him to move to London. With Jack Wilshere leaving the club, Arsenal are looking for midfield reinforcements and have already been linked with several names, including the Manchester United man Marouane Fellaini.
For their own part, Sevilla will attempt to open talks with Banega over a possible contract renewal.
The 29-year-old is under a €20 million release clause and the La Liga giants will try to tie him up on a new deal and thus try to push his price up.
Ever Banega was a key member of Sevilla’s Europa League winning campaign, helping the club to two titles before leaving for Inter Milan.
His Italian spell did not work as planned and he returned to the Andalusian side a year after leaving to Serie A.
