Arsenal starlet Aaron Ramsey has joined Championship club Nottingham Forest on loan.
The deal – to run for just over a month – was announced on Thursday and immediately excited Forest fans, who are keen to see the Welsh international in action at the City Ground.
The 19-year-old whiz-kid had his leg broken by Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross in February and has only just returned to action, completing a 45-minute workout for the Arsenal reserves against Wolves on Tuesday.
Ramsey successfully got through the test for his parent club Arsenal before signing an emergency loan until January 3.
“Everybody at the club is very, very pleased with the fact that an excellent footballer (is) coming to the club,” Forest boss Billy Davies said on the club’s website.
“Over the last couple of days we’ve made lots of enquiries and tried to do one or two things. It’s just nice to get a player of such quality in from Arsenal.”
Ramsey is one of the hottest prospects in British football and has made more than 25 appearances for Arsenal and registered 11 caps for his country.
His arrival came on the same day that Sheffield Wednesday forward Marcus Tudgay also joined the club on an emergency loan, with a view to a permanent switch in January.
Both loan signings will give Forest further options in the attacking third and are both eligible for eight Championship fixtures.
Nottingham Forest sit sixth in the Championship and the short-term signings of the duo will surely bolster their promotion hopes.
