Guti drops retirement hint

Besiktas midfielder Jose Maria Guti has revealed that he plans to retire at the end of the season.

The former Real Madrid midfielder only joined the Turkish giants last summer, but things have not gone as planned for the 34-year-old.

Following the 2:0 defeat to Kayserispor that saw Besiktas slip to seventh place in the standings, the player revealed his retirement plans.

“If things continue like this, I will retire at the end of the season,” Guti said on his Twitter account.

“I want to live next to my children and I see that the door closes football. I would like to win the league with Besiktas and retire happy.”
