According to AS, former Real Madrid midfielder Guti could be on the verge of returning to the Bernabeu in order to replace Julen Lopetegui as manager of the club. Lopetegui appears to be on borrowed time with the European champions right now with many fans calling for his head, and we certainly know that appointing former players in this kind of position has worked wonders for Real in the past.
Guti is currently serving as Besiktas’ assistant manager in Turkey, although it seems like he’d probably jump at the chance to be gifted such a glorious opportunity if it fell into his lap. Florentino Perez, the club’s president, allegedly believes that Guti is the perfect candidate to take on such a role as Madrid attempt to recover what is left of their campaign.
Real currently find themselves down in 7th in the La Liga table, four points off of Barcelona.
