According to a recent report from AS, Real Madrid have decided to sign youngster Miguel Gutierrez to a new long-term deal that will last through until 2024. There had been some speculation that the young left-back may start attracting some attention from elsewhere, but now, he’s received clear confirmation from the club that they’re going to be investing in him and his talents.
The 18-year-old sensation featured in the club’s first team during an Audi Cup game against Fenerbahce before the season even began, with the belief within the club being that Zinedine Zidane views him as one of their most exciting prospects.
Real have always come across as a club that is going to put their weight behind big money signings as opposed to bringing all too many kids up through the grassroots system, but now, it appears as if they’re really starting to invest in the idea that their youth could be the answer to their problems.
